2014 Miss Emanuel County

Austin Carruth

Austin Carruth is the twenty-one year old daughter of Kevin and Cherry Carruth. Having moved over six times since the age of 2, Austin has lived in numerous areas all over Southeast Georgia. Six years ago, her family decided to return to her Mother's hometown of Swainsboro, Georgia to be closer to family. She graduated from Swainsboro High School in 2011 with numerous honors. She is currently attending East Georgia State College, from which she will graduate with her Associate's Degree in December of 2013. From there, she plans to attend Columbus State University to major in Mass Media.

Austin's platform "Conquering the Future One Day at a Time: CURE Childhood Cancer," is something that is extremely important to her due to her brother, Zachery, being diagnosed with cancer at the age of ten. Although her family was able to opt for surgical removal (which completely removed the cancer), not all families are so lucky. She has begun working closely with the CURE Foundation in order to bring childhood cancer awareness to the population, raise funds for research and support the families of those affected.

When she is not in the classroom, at work, or volunteering, Austin enjoys spending her spare time in a variety of ways. From spending time with family and friends to conquering rides at theme parks, she loves doing anything that creates a fun atmosphere! Anytime you can not find Austin, she is more than likely in the gym! From lifting weights to cardio, she is dedicated to her personal fitness.

Being crowned her dream title of Miss Emanuel County, Austin plans to go above and beyond to serve her community this next year. She is looking forward to representing her home of Emanuel County on the Miss Georgia stage this summer!
