2017 Miss Emanuel County

Brittany Sherrod

Brittany is the 21-year-old daughter of Jim and Bobbie Sherrod. She is a 2013 honor graduate of Emanuel County Institute. Brittany currently attends Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where she is a Senior pursuing her Bachelors of Science degree in Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics. She is involved in the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources School, Treasurer of the Agribusiness Club, and Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee. Because of her love for agriculture, after graduation from ABAC she plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics.

Brittany has spent her life giving back to Emanuel County through community service and volunteering. She loves working with the youth of Emanuel County by being a positive role model and mentor. Brittany is an advocate for spreading the knowledge of the dangers of texting while driving and is also an avid supporter for the agricultural industry. She volunteers multiple times throughout the year at local schools to help mentor children and teach them literacy skills and a love for reading. This is the basis of her platform, “Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader!” Brittany is currently working with local schools to establish programs for literacy development in children.

When Brittany is not in the classroom or volunteering with local youth, she enjoys traveling with her family and friends, spending time with her dogs, Millie and Roscoe, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves!

Brittany is thankful for the support given by the businesses and residents of Swainsboro and Emanuel County that provide the scholarship and positive self-development opportunities for so many young women. She is so excited about being named Miss Emanuel County, and she is eager for all of the events during her reign this year. She is truly honored that she will be able to represent her home for the past 21 years on the Miss Georgia stage in June.
